The Zambia Medical Association (ZMA) inducted and cloaked 160 Medical Doctors into the medical profession on the 30th of October, 2025. The Induction was held at the Mulungushi University, Great North Road Campus in Kabwe.
A proud moment for all as we celebrated the future of healthcare, with distinguished guests; The Guest of Honor at the ceremony, Acting Permanent Secretary – Central Province, Dr. Elijah Mutoloki Munachonga. Also present were the Deputy Registrar for Technical Services – Health Professions Council of Zambia – HPCZ, Dr. Muhumpu Kafwamfwa, The Deputy Vice Chancellor Innovation and Research – Mulungushi University, Professor Chansa Chomba, The Senior Medical Superintendent – Livingstone UTH, Dr. Kaseya O.R Chiyenu, and The Dean School of Medicine and Health Sciences – Mulungushi University, Dr. Miyoba H. Michelo and Many others.
Speaking at the ceremony, The Zambia Medical Association President, Dr. Masiku Phiri urged the inductees to uphold integrity and exemplary conduct beyond the workplace, as their professional standing places, they are at the pinnacle of societal expectation and demands behavior that reflects the dignity of the medical profession.
Additionally, he gave a huge thank you to the Mulungushi University School of Medicine(SOM) for producing this newly qualified cohort of medical doctors. Dr. Phiri concluded by wishing the new cohort of inducted Doctors the very best in their medical practice Journey.
Conducting the induction, the Zambia Medical Association Secretary General, Dr. Innocent Ngwira extended his congratulations to the inductees, encouraging them to find a mentor, share their struggles in their professional endeavors, while also maintaining integrity, professionalism and having a focused mindset at all times.
The President of Zambia Medical Association, Dr. Masiku Phiri took up the Hippocratic Oath and adorning of lab coats. During his address, The President congratulated the inductees for the great milestone in their academic journey and welcomed the inductees, highlighting the significance of joining the noble profession.
