ZMA INDUCTS EDEN UNIVERSITY’S FIRST- EVER DOCTORS.

The Zambia Medical Association (ZMA) inducted the first-ever class of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) doctors from Eden University.

This landmark ceremony celebrated 35 new doctors, marking a significant milestone for both the university and the nation’s healthcare sector.

The ZMA President Dr. Masiku Phiri, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly inducted doctors.

He emphasized that the ZMA remains a steadfast partner, committed to advocating for the employment of doctors and ensuring a supportive professional environment.

Dr. Masiku encouraged the graduates to not only uphold the highest standards of practice but also to look after their personal health and well-being. He imparted a final piece of wisdom: “Honor your teachers, and honor those who came before you. Your journey is built on their knowledge and experience, and your success is a testament to their dedication.”

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including the Vice Chancellor of Eden University, Dr. Alvert N. Ng’andu, who congratulated the graduates and urged them to uphold the highest standards of practice and embrace innovation.

Health Professional Council of Zambia ( HPCZ) Deputy Registrar for Technical Services, Dr. Muhumpu Kamfwamfwa reinforced the council’s role in ensuring high standards of care.

The induction reached its peak as the ZMA Secretary General, Dr. Innocent Ngwira, led the new doctors in reciting their oaths, a powerful symbol of their dedication to this noble profession.

This momentous occasion, was also attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Eden Prof. Flavien N. Bumbangu and Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Nchimunya Machila, and Eden’s CEO, Mr. Kelvin Kaunda.
