ZAMBIA HOSTS THE 3RD EDITION OF THE CONFERENCE ON PUBLIC HEALTH IN AFRICA (CPHIA).

Zambia is privileged to host the 3rd edition of the Africa CDC International Conference on Public Health in Africa. The theme of the Conference is ‘Breaking Barriers, *Repositioning Africa in The Global Health Architecture*. The event has attracted over 5,000 delegates from across Africa and beyond.

#CPHIA2023 was officiated by The Republican President , H.E Mr Hakainde Hichilema on 27th November,2023 at the Mulungushi International Conference Center in Lusaka and is expected to run till today, 30th November,2023.

President Hakainde Hichilema also handed over the Lifetime Achievement recognition award to World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus bestowed on him by the Africa CDC Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA) 2023.

On 28th November,2023 the event also saw a Special Ministerial Session were Ministers of Health from various member states gathered to discuss Transformative Leadership for Health in Africa. Several side events are also taking place all showcasing how Africa is addressing diverse issues affecting the continent.

The Zambia Medical Association is proud to participate in this important event.
