ZMA VISITS MEMBERS WORKING AT THE CHOLERA TREATMENT CENTER-HEROES STADIUM

The Zambia Medical Association commends the prompt response from the nation’s highest office, recognizing the visit of His Excellency Mr. Hakainde Hichilema to Heroes Stadium the day prior. Heroes Stadium, functioning as the country’s principal cholera treatment center, currently attends to an extensive patient base exceeding 900 individuals.

In its unwavering commitment to fortify the ongoing response efforts, the association’s President and Secretary General

Dr Kaumba Tolopu and Dr Kaoma Oliver respectively and the entire executive are conferring continuously with the Minister of Health, Hon. Sylvia T. Masebo, and Permanent Secretaries to strategize and address identified gaps in the epidemic response, the well-being of frontline staff, efficient case management, and community-based strategies.

The association steadfastly pledges to heighten its advisory role and policy advocacy, particularly in championing increased investments in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) to ensure a comprehensive and efficacious response to the current health challenge
