ZMA LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award is given to a medical doctor who has had a long and distinguished professional career. They have without question dedicated their life to the practice of the art of medicine and their life is a testimony of what an exemplary life lived practicing the art of medicine should be. The award had two recipients;

DR. KACHINGA SICHIZYA

Dr. Kachinga Sichizya completed his MBCHB at the University of Zambia in 1994 and began his Neurosurgery career in Zimbabwe in 1997.He later moved to University of Cape town in January 2000 for Neurosurgery residency and qualified as Fellow of the college of Neurosurgeons in October, 2005.

He returned to University of Teaching Hospitals (UTHs) in January 2006 before moving to Beit-Cure hospital in July 2006 where he worked until January 2017 when he rejoined UTHs as Head of Neurosurgery. He served as Head Clinical Care Emergency services at UTH from 2017 up to 2019 when he resigned to focus on Neurosurgery.

Dr. Sichizya served as the first Director of the Neurosurgery Specialist Training Program (STP) since inception in January 2018.
